Werner apre il suo primo negozio in Germania con il concetto innovativo in questi tempi per self-servise nei drugstore. Nel 1976 <strong>dm<\/strong> si espande anche in Austria e continua a crescere. Nel 1984 avvia la formazione professionale dei propri collaboratori, nel 1986 <strong>dm <\/strong>diventa pionera del biologico e introduce nei suoi negozzi prodotti alimentari biologici. Dagli anni &#8217;90 il grupo si espande nell&#8217; Europa dell&#8217;est.
